Abstract: Sources of biomass for fuel production include a variety of resources such as forest and agricultural residues, natural vegetation and specially grown energy crops. From an environmental perspective, forest and agricultural residues and residues are ideal feedstocks for biofuel production. In order to increase the efficiency of the forest industry complex, Russian scientists propose to use end-to-end technological processes that combine the various stages of harvesting, transportation and processing of wood biomass. The specific choice of technologies and methods of plantation forest cultivation plays an important role in improving the efficiency of forestry enterprises. However, the analysis of foreign scientific research in the field of energy forestry shows the lack of attention paid to the study of technological processes of obtaining the final product of plantation forest growing - wood chips. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a technical and economic analysis of such technologies in order to fully unlock the potential of this area. The inclusion of new samples of chopping equipment that meet modern technical requirements in the end-to-end technological process of plantation forest growing can provide more reliable energy security, both for forest enterprises and consumers who do not have the possibility of centralized provision of thermal energy.
