An osteopathic approach to the treatment of patients with mechanical lumbar pain (a review)
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The article presents an analysis of the results of 30 randomized trials conducted from 2003 to 2023 on the use of osteopathic treatment for acute and chronic low back pain. It has been shown that osteopathic treatment for this pathology leads to a decrease in pain intensity and an improvement in the quality of life of patients. Pain severity has been demonstrated to correlate with the number of key osteopathic lesions, with direct implications for the use of osteopathic manual therapy (OMT) in patients. OMT can be used as a means to relieve pain in patients who do not use painkillers or to reduce their dose.
