Abstract: We are living through Earth's sixth mass extinction event. Current extinction rates are estimated to be 100-times higher than normal levels. With such widespread loss, it is a challenge to decide how to allocate limited conservation resources. These efforts are further hindered by a scarcity of data on the effects of losing a single keystone species from an ecosystem.
