Abstract: This case demonstrates an example of acute stent thrombosis in a patient with immune thrombocytopenic purpura, focusing on the use of optical coherence tomography as a clinical tool to aid subsequent management. We discuss the pathophysiology of prothrombotic states in immune thrombocytopenic purpura and potential management strategies, balancing antiplatelet use and eltrombopag.
