Abstract: In the realm of international business, negotiation is an indispensable skill, encompassing a variety of complexities arising from cultural, economic, and political differences. Conflict can arise at any stage of business dealings, from sourcing and procurement to partnerships and joint ventures. Successful negotiation strategies must therefore be put in place to facilitate effective conflict resolution. One such indispensable strategy is the concept of BATNA, which stands for "Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement." Understanding and effectively utilizing BATNA can significantly bolster an organization's bargaining power, ultimately leading to more favorable negotiation outcomes.
