Abstract: I review the payments we make, credit card reconciliations and work with our auditors during our annual audit. I ensure our finances are recorded correctly, review our bank payments when we pay suppliers and member expenses and support the Animal Welfare Foundation with its finances as well. Since joining BVA, it's been really rewarding to be part of making positive changes to the way we work. This has included refreshing how we do some finance reports, such as those that are sent to budget holders to help them understand their income and spend better. This has been really rewarding as it has given them greater insight and detail into where and how the money has been spent and helped them make informed decisions. Working in finance can be a wide-ranging role with so many different people. I'm part of a fantastic team but also have the chance to work with and support people from across the organisation on different projects and areas of work, which I find really enjoyable.
