Abstract: The title coordination polymer, [Co(N 3 ) 2 (C 9 H 8 N 2 )] n , was synthesized solvothermally. The Co II atom exhibits a distorted octahedral [CoN 6 ] coordination geometry with a bidentate 8-aminoquinoline ligand and four azide ligands. Bridging azide ligands result in chains extending along [100]. N—H...N hydrogen bonds join the chains to give an extended structure with sheets parallel to (002).
