Abstract: Seaweed has emerged as a promising strategy for extracting carbon from the environment and minimizing the consequences of climate change because it can store carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. This study explores the global potential of seaweed farming as a scalable means of extracting carbon dioxide and mitigating climate change, with a focus on the interplay between existing knowledge and biophysical constraints. This study uses a comprehensive evaluation of the literature and data analysis to evaluate the variability in carbon removal capacity across different seaweed farming environments worldwide. Seaweed farming's ability to effectively sequester carbon is largely dependent on biophysical factors such as species selection, growing techniques, oceanic conditions, and geographic location.
