Metrological Guidance for the Calibration of Laboratory Glassware

Abstract: This report provides technical guidance for the calibration of laboratory glassware to help the practitioner achieve traceability to the International System of Units and meet customer quality requirements. The discussion of traceability uses the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s seven essential elements of traceability as a framework. The guidance also includes how to determine when calibration is necessary, practical tips, and helpful references.
