Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: This research examined the association between social media usage and teachers’ professional well-being. The study also foresees that teachers’ self-efficacy mediates the positive relationship between using social media and teachers’ professional well-being. This is a descriptive study and a survey approach was used to collect data through the administration of questionnaires to the conveniently selected sample of 171 University teachers working in Pakistan. The researchers used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS-26) to analyze the data. The analysis revealed that social media use is positively associated with teachers’ professional well-being, directly and indirectly, via teacher’s self-efficacy. The findings of the study add to the existing literature by emphasizing the role of social media usage and teachers’ self-efficacy in modeling teachers’ professional well-being.
