Multan's Domestic Travel Landscape: Unraveling Influential Factors in Transportation Choices
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: The study endeavors to discern the determinants influencing individual travel mode preferences within the urban landscape of Multan City, located in the province of Punjab, Pakistan. Methodologically anchored in primary data acquired through an online questionnaire, a judicious application of convenient sampling facilitated the assimilation of pertinent information. Employing the binary regression Logit model, the discernments proffer that variables such as income, total distance, gender, and fuel expenditure exert a significant influence on the selection of travel mode. Conversely, the variables of age and possession of a driving license were found to be non-contributory to the individuals' choices in travel mode.
