Abstract: Ultrasonographic evaluation is a crucial diagnostic tool for assessing fetal limb abnormalities during pregnancy. The aim of this study is to describe the importance of ultrasound as a diagnosis in fetal limb anatomy and fetal limb abnormalities. Ultrasonography was used to scan the limbs of fetuses in 14894 pregnant women undergoing prenatal ultrasonographic evaluation in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2022. Ten out of the 14894 fetuses were found to have limb abnormalities. They were five cases of club feet, one case of thanatophoric dwarfism type I, two cases of achondroplasia, one case of Sironomelia and one case of fetal akinesia sequence. Amniocentesis was performed in five pregnancies. This procedure led to the diagnosis of two cases of trisomy 18 and three cases with normal genetic results. Antenatal ultrasound revealed supplementary concurrent lethal malformations, prompting the decision to proceed with medical termination of pregnancy in all instances. The findings from antenatal ultrasound were confirmed through fetopathological examination in all cases. Ultrasonographic evaluation plays a pivotal role in the early detection and diagnosis of fetal limb abnormalities.
