Abstract: Straatsma Syndrome is characterized by a triad of axial myopia, myelinated nerve fibers, and ambliyopia.[1] Vitreomacular traction and epiretinal membrane formation may occasionally occur. A 39-year-old otherwise healthy woman had an emmetropic right eye with normal anterior and posterior segments, but she had left exotropia. However, cycloplegic refraction of −9.75–1.75 × 10 and left best-corrected visual acuity was counting fingers. Color fundus and infrared images [Figure 1a and b] revealed the presence of extensive peripapillary myelinated nerve fiber layer sparing the macula and spectral domain optical coherence tomographic sections [Figure 1c and d] revealed the presence of left epiretinal membrane with pseudohole formation.Figure 1: Color fundus (a) and infra-red images (b) showing the extensive peripapillary myelinated nerve fibre layer sparing the fovea at the left posterior pole. Spectral domain optical coherence sections (blue line indicating the foveal section and the green line depicting the section over the inferior macula) demonstrating the hyperreflective appearance of the myelinated nerve fiber (c) and the epiretinal membrane with pseudohole formation (d)Declaration of patient consent The authors certify that they have obtained all appropriate patient consent forms. In the form the patient (s) has/have given his/her/their consent for his/her/their images and other clinical information to be reported in the journal. The patients understand that their names and initials will not be published and due efforts will be made to conceal their identity, but anonymity cannot be guaranteed.
