Abstract: Background Psychomotor therapy, which focuses on enhancing body awareness and improving motor and emotional functions, plays a crucial role in the treatment of patients with Huntington’s disease (HD). To assess and optimize the effectiveness of psychomotor therapy, the Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA) questionnaire serves as a reliable and comprehensible measurement tool. This questionnaire is validated to evaluate body awareness, for instance, in people with anxiety disorders, depression, stress, trauma, addictions, and other mental disorders. Aims To explore the applicability and suitability of the MAIA questionnaire for people with HD, we aim to contribute to the development of better diagnostic and therapeutic methods to measure body awareness. This will support professionals in choosing the right interventions and, consequently, contribute to the quality of life for patients with HD. Methods/Techniques We will administer the MAIA questionnaire to ten persons with HD. We will observe all ten participants and assess the following aspects: the comprehensibility of the language, the time taken to complete, any questions that arise, and the participants’ concentration levels. Additionally, we will conduct interviews with five out of the ten participants. These interviews will provide a more detailed insight into their experiences. Results/Outcome Data collection is still ongoing, we will present our outcomes on the poster. Conclusions This study will provide insights on the applicability and the suitability of the MAIA questionnaire for diagnostic and therapeutic use in HD. This is a first step to further investigate the validity of the MAIA questionnaire.
