Abstract: Adolescence represents a pivotal period in an individual's life, marking the transition from childhood to adulthood. During this phase, adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the risks associated with substance abuse. This study, therefore, sought to identify the psychological and social factors contributing to drug abuse and addiction among adolescents in Jordan. To achieve this objective, a qualitative procedural research approach was employed, drawing upon existing literature and prior studies as a foundation for inquiry. The study identified a number of psychological and social factors that contribute to the use and addiction to drugs. These were found to include: a love of tradition; a love of excitement; a lack of maturity in personality; disturbances in the relationship between adolescents and parents; a desire to reduce stress and anxiety; a weak religious conscience; parents' preoccupation with children; excessive cruelty to children; and other factors.
