Abstract: In 2024 Krasnoyarsk Rail Transport Institute — branch of Irkutsk State Transport University turns 130 years. The history of its establishment is connected with the rapid development of railway transport in Russia and the construction of a new railway in Siberia. The article presents an outline of the 130-year history formation and development of the oldest educational institution, founded in 1894 as the First Siberian Technical Railway School. The main stages of the university’s formation are determined, achievements in the professional training of specialists in the railway industry, its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country are considered.
