Abstract: Case presentationA 46-year-old woman presents to her GP with joint pains, low mood and lack of energy.She reports her last period occurred 8 months ago.PMH.DVT (during pregnancy), hypertension.DH.Candesartan cilexetil 16 mg PO daily.SH.Married with 2 children, secondary school teacher. On examinationTemperature 37.0°C, HR 75/min and rhythm regular, BP 135/75 mmHg.Weight 84 kg, BMI 28 kg/m 2 (18-25).Joints not swollen or acutely painful.No morning stiffness. InvestigationsHb 145 g/L (115-165).K + 4.1 mmol/L (3.5-5.3),Cr 80 µmol/L (60-110), eGFR >60 mL/min/1.73m 2 (>60), TSH 3.2 mU/L (0.4-5.0), CRP 3 mg/L (<10), rheumatoid factor 5 kIU/L (<30).She is found to have menopausal symptoms.
