Type: article
Abstract: Background: Diabetes mellitus is causing long-term problems, namely cardiovascular disorders. This study aimed to examine the impact of Sitagliptin and Glibenclamide on glycemic indicators and lipid prole. Methods: This research study, was carried out on Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at a tertiary care hospital in Telangana. Two study groups were allocated as Group A – Glibenclamide group (n=30) and Group B - Sitagliptin group (n=30), respectively. Patients were enrolled following inclusion and exclusion criteria. Before the study ethical letter was acquired. SPSS software was used to evaluate the collected data, and a p value of < 0.001* was considered signicant. Results: In this study, Group A had a mean age of 47.3 years and Group B 48.01 years. Group A had a little lower BMI (27.61) than Group B (28.12). The HbA1c percentage in Group A (7.82) was higher than in Group B (7.51). Group A (130.09) had greater LDL than Group B (127.34). Group A (42.72) had somewhat higher HDL than Group B (41.89). Triglycerides were lower in Group A (189.0) than in Group B (210.00). Group A had lower total cholesterol (212.46) than Group B (217.67). The assessed characteristics of the research participants showed a statistically signicant (p=0.001*) BMI change of 0.51 between Groups A and B. Triglycerides (TAGs) levels differed across research groups (p=0.001*). Conclusions: Sitagliptin is a favorable choice for diabetic people with cardiovascular diseases since it can improve inammation and lipid prole. The study ndings offer proof of the favorable inuence of Sitagliptin in mitigating cardiovascular risks among persons diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, with its advantages in regulating insulin-glucose levels.
