Abstract: Kidnapping is a major societal issue. This study develops a mathematical model categorizing kidnappers by their activities. The model is divided into six compartments: susceptible individuals (S), informers (I), kidnappers (K), kidnappers soldiers (KS), , kidnappers leaders (KL), and individuals undergoing rehabilitation (R). The model assesses control strategies by calculating the effective reproduction number. A reproduction number less than 1 indicates the potential eradication of kidnapping activities, while a higher number suggests persistence. The results reveal that eliminating as well as incarcerating kidnappers and their leaders can significantly reduce kidnapping incidents.
