Abstract: In this article we examine students’ and pre-service teachers’ experiences with a season of Sport Education as pedagogical framework for physical education. We relate these experiences to what Siedentop et al. (2011) presents as long-term goals for Sport Education: That students are to become competent, literate, and enthusiastic sportspersons. We have used two methods to gather data: letters and focus group interviews. Our findings indicate that both students and pre-service teachers experience that Sport Education can contribute in a positive manner towards the students’ becoming competent, literate and enthusiastic sportspersons. At the same time, the findings suggest that the model should be explored further to determine how and why students develop within the three main objectives of the model.
