100 years of Moschcowitz disease and thrombotic microangiopathy research: a look into the past and prospects

Abstract: In this article we review the history of the thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) study over the past 100 years. Important events and discoveries made by scientists across the globe are described, which profoundly contributed to understanding TMA etiology, pathogenesis and treatment. The prospects for current TMA investigation especially in obstetric practice are discussed.
