Abstract: The authors study in thorough detail the possibility that a dominant fraction of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (above 5 EeV) stems from the nearby radio galaxy Centaurus A. They provide remarkably comprehensive and meticulous predictions for the energy spectrum, the measured chemical composition, and anisotropy of the cosmic radiation and show that the influence of the extragalactic and Galactic magnetic fields is crucial to match observations.
