Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: DevOps is a technology that enables teams to work together in a collaborative environment.Agile software development practices have been shown to have a positive impact on software quality, deployment frequency, and team productivity. This study aims to analyze and understand how the adoption and implementation of DevOps practices affect the software quality and deployment frequency in software development.A systematic literature review is conducted to synthesize previous research findings on the impact of Agile and/or DevOps practices on software development, focusing on practices and outcomes defined in the DevOps research from 2018.A mixed-methods research design was chosen to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the impact.A qualitative method with semi-structured interviews and an anonymous survey with close-ended questions was used to evaluate the data.Thematic analyses and Bayesian analyses were used to investigate the data, and thematic analyses were performed. The findings reveal that there are positive effects of CI/CD, automation, and collaborative practices within DevOps on the quality of software, deployment, and productivity of a software house in the traditional agile environment.
