Effectiveness of Pictorial Riddle Learning to Improve Students' Creativity: Literature Review

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This study aims to assess how effective the use of the picture puzzle learning model is in improving students' creativity, by referring to the findings of several previous studies. This study was motivated by concerns about unsatisfactory learning outcomes at the elementary school level, which are caused by the lack of application of innovative learning models by teachers and the limited use of an integrated approach that focuses on themes. Many teachers still adopt traditional learning models that emphasize the role of teachers, resulting in low levels of student involvement in the learning process.Creativity is considered crucial in modern education because it allows students to develop critical thinking, innovation, and effective problem-solving skills.Pictorial riddle, as a learning method that combines visual elements and puzzles, is believed to stimulate students' imagination and creative thinking skills. This literature review presents an analysis of various studies and scientific articles that discuss the application of picture puzzles. The results of the analysis indicate that this learning model is an effective strategy in increasing student participation, enriching learning experiences, and developing various aspects of creativity, including originality, flexibility, and elaboration.
