Identificación de corredores biológicos potenciales para el lince (Lynx rufus) en un área multipropósito del Noreste de México

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The objectives of the research were i) to determine patches and points of origin forthe establishment and connectivity of biological corridors, ii) to estimate the costarea for the establishment of biological corridors, iii) to define biological corridorswith viability for the dispersal of the bobcat (Lynx rufus) in a multipurpose area inReynosa, Tamaulipas. To monitor behavioral patterns, capture and recapturerecords were generated using the photographic sampling method. To calculatedensity, the results were entered into the statistical program CAPTURE. To modelthe potential habitat, the maximum entropy method (MaxEnt) was used. The costsurfaces were obtained with the maps in MaxEnt. The results showed that: i) thereare six patches and points of origin for the establishment and connectivity ofbiological corridors, which presented a mature community of Tamaulipanthornscrub, ii) most of the study area presents values ranging from medium to highon the cost scale, which is correlated with intense landscape modification, and iii)11 potential biological corridors were defined for the dispersal of the bobcat (Lynxrufus) in a multipurpose area in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
