Abstract: A central venous catheter (CVC) is an indwelling device that is inserted into a large central vein, typically the internal jugular, femoral, or subclavian vein, and advances until the terminal lumen is found in the inferior vena cava or right atrium. In order to facilitate increasingly sophisticated interventions like transvenous pacemaker placement, devices and procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring, dialysis, plasmapheresis, total parenteral nutrition delivery (TPN), medication administration, and access devices and techniques were created. There are complications of CVC like bleeding, infection, assesses. The main goal of this present study to assess the effectiveness of 2% chlorhexidine with polyurethane dressing on preventing infection. An evaluative approach simple random sampling technique with only post-test control group design, total participant were 60 in that 30 participants for experimental group and 30 for control group.\ Result: The results revealed considerable in prevention of infection (p=0.0001) in experimental group than control group (p=0.0001).hence, indicating a statistically significant difference in MR VICTOR scores, with the experimental group showing a better (lower) infection score on both days. This suggests that the intervention 2% Chlorhexidine with polyurethane dressing was effective in reducing infection rates among patients with Central Venous Catheters.
