Abstract: Over the years, along with the popularity of global Internet as a widespread medium of communication, information security threats such as cybercrime has emerged as a global challenge for secure data communication. Prevention of such a global crime has become extremely difficult. However, numerous detection and protection strategies have been proposed. In addition, government agencies publish regulations to prevent such harmful activities to protect data security and privacy. In this paper, we discuss various cybercrime features along with their prevention strategies. We also discuss some regulations that can prevent malicious activities on the global Internet to ensure data security and privacy.
