Abstract: Rice (O.sativa L.) is a vital global food source, with 519.5 million Tons produced worldwide with a production in Asia estimated to be 458.1 million Tons in 2022-23.The production of rice in India in the year 2022-23 is estimated to be 124.3 million Tons.Rice holds immense dietary significance in India, serving as a primary calorie source for over 70% of the population. The consumption of rice in India in the year 2022-23 is estimated to be 109.7 million Tons.Being semi aquatic in nature, rice faces substantial threats from various pathogens such as fungi, bacteria, nematodes, and viruses, significantly impacting both yield and quality.Bacterial leaf blight (BLB) is one of the significant rice diseases induced by the gramn e g a t i v e bacterium Xanthomonas oryzae pv.oryzae (Xoo), with a potential to yield reductions from 20% to 80%.BLB is a widespread disease with symptoms of late blight, wilting (kresek), and pale-yellow leaves.Xoo Virulent proteins specially secreted ones, Sec/SPI nature, plays determining role in infection process. These proteins are produced in large amounts by the bacteria during colonization and infection, and identifying them is important for controlling the pathogen's virulence. With computational advancement and available database, identification of these proteins has become more easier through various computational methods. With this objective we analyzed the proteome of Xoo strain PXO99 A , which consist of 4951 proteins. We found 454 annotated proteins as pathogenic in nature, 134 were predicted with Sec/SPI nature with SignalP6.0analysis for identification of Sec/SPI type proteins.Out of 134 sequences 14 seq viz.Exoglucanase A, Major extracellular endoglucanase, Pectinesterase, TonBdependent outer membrane Receptor, Lipase; esterase, Xylosidase; Arabinosidase, Beta-lactamase, C-type cytochrome biogenesis protein, Endoglucanase, Cellulase, Xylanase and Superoxide dismutase [Mn] were predicted with enzymatic nature with a definite involvement in pathogenesis.
