Abstract: In the context of the actions developed by the Permanent Commission for Inclusion and Accessibility (CPIA) and the Setor de Musicografia Braille e Apoio à Inclusão (SEMBRAIN) at the Escola de Música da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (EMUFRN), this article aims to analyze the development of strategies aimed at the participation of visually impaired students in collaboration with these university management instances. These strategies include: a) the collaborative development of the CPIA/EMUFRN Action Plan; b) participation in the regular meetings of the Commission; and c) periodic meetings for the evaluation of the academic semester. This research is descriptive in nature with a qualitative approach, employing document analysis as its main investigative strategy. It was found that the experiences analyzed align with the principles of democratic educational management within university administration, while also informing decision-making processes aimed at supporting the retention, participation, and academic success of students with disabilities in higher education. Furthermore, these initiatives highlight the role of these students as central agents in the construction of inclusive educational environments.
