Status of the fish stocks and fisheries of the main commercial fish species of Lake Ladoga in the XXI century

Abstract: In the 21st century, there has been decrease in stocks and catches of aquatic biological resources in Lake Ladoga as well as a change in the structure of the fish population in the Lake, primarily due to changes in the trophic capacity of the reservoir. Smelt dominates in the commercial catches. Stocks and catches of autumn-spawning whitefish and lakecisco show obvious downward trend. Biological and commercial indicators of the pike-perch population are at a low level. Stocks of bream, roach and perch are in good condition.
