Research Progress in Prevention and Treatment of Atherosclerosis by Regulating Endothelial Cells with Traditional Chinese Medicine

Abstract: Atherosclerosis (AS)is an important pathological basis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Its pathogenesis is complex and involves many factors. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has the advantage of multi-link and multi-target intervention in the prevention and treatment of AS, in which the regulation of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) is an important research direction. This article will review the research progress of TCM in preventing and treating AS by regulating EPCs.
