Fisheries in the Vologda region: current state and long-term dynamics of catches

Abstract: The modern fisheries structure in the most important waterbodies of the Vologda region was discussed in the article. Regional characteristics of the main factors influencing industrial fisheries have been identified. The long-term dynamics of fish catches in the large lakes Beloye, Onega, Kubenskoye, Vozhe, reservoirs Rybinskoye and Sheksninskoye within the region were studied from 1973 to 2022. The importance of the main fish species for fisheries was established, and the seasonal dynamics of their industrial catch was examined. Amateur fisheries in the waterbodies of the Vologda region were described in the article.
