In(OTf)3-catalyzed one-pot synthesis of α-amido arylketazines

Abstract: The one-pot synthesis of diversified α-amido arylketazines was developed under the oxygen atmosphere conditions. In(OTf)3-catalyzed benzylic oxidation of various α-arylacetamides followed by hydrazine (N2H4·2HCl)-mediated double condensation of the resulting α-ketoamides through the formation of two carbon-nitrogen double (C=N) bonds. A plausible mechanism is proposed and well-discussed.
