Abstract: Leveraging the synergies among different energy technologies, Integrated Energy Systems (IES) can achieve greater efficiency, higher flexibility, and better CO2 removal concurrently. However, system integration in reality faces various challenges and difficulties. To integrate with other components, off-the-shelf equipment needs case-by-case modifications and redesigns. This presentation will use two integrated systems as examples to reveal the challenges in system integration.
