The Impact of Aerobic Exercise on Autonomic Functions in Patients withChronic Kidney Disease-A Randomized Control Trial
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study designs: Randomized Controlled Trial, Clinical Trial
Abstract: Background and objectives Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health concern, and preventing its development requires a healthy lifestyle. Low-intensity aerobic exercise is crucial for managing CKD, and early intervention improves health outcomes and restores autonomic nervous system function. Aerobic exercise enhances parasympathetic nervous system activity, reducing sympathetic activity linked to cardiac disease and kidney disease, and restoring the autonomic nervous system to normal function. Method: The study examines the autonomic functions of therapeutic aerobic exercise on patients with chronic kidney disease. A total 150 patients were randomly selected by the lottery method and divided into two groups by the Lautorry method: control and intervention. The intervention group received a therapeutic aerobic exercise program for six months in addition to routine treatment, whereas the control group received routine treatment. Results: The study found that aerobic exercises improve autonomic functions in ckd patients. Conclusion: Aerobic exercises are crucial for early intervention and improving health outcomes in chronic kidney disease patients by restoring normal function of the autonomic nervous system.
