Abstract: Interest of teaching Chinese on a global scale, especially in Africa, due to globalisation and China'semergence internationally, is undoubtedly growing. In Cameroon, while the teaching of Chinese isconsidered relevant, it faces significant cultural and linguistic difficulties. This article proposes to analysethe impact of "localisation" on Chinese language learning. This study is based on documentation, casestudies and personal experiences. Documents are selected, including academic articles and institutionalreports. The results show that this localization is perceptible through the presence of Cameroonianteachers engaged in Chinese language teaching throughout the national territory; contextualisation ofteaching materials; the development of teaching programmes; Scientific studies are being carried outmore and more by Cameroonians on the issue of teaching and learning this language. Recommendationsare made to improve the localisation of Chinese language teaching, while taking into consideration thecultural diversity of Cameroon.
