Abstract: An increase in aging population poses significant challenges which are more pronounced in low- and lower middleincome countries. This editorial explores the multifaceted challenges in geriatric research such as demographic disparities, methodological complexities, ethical concern, challenges in data analysis and underrepresentation in studies with a focus on autoimmune and rheumatic diseases. To effectively address the challenges, a concerted multinational research consortia for the development of universally applicable care model is critical. Methodological advancements, increased funding at individual and institutional levels, and implementation of evidence-based healthcare policy will help in ensuring that the aged worldwide receive comprehensive care.
