Process Optimization in Process Planning using a Multidimensional Approach in the Automotive Assembly
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The potential for process planning and optimization is significantly increasing by the growing amount of data that is available in manufacturing systems. These potentials often remain unused as a result of a lack of data analytics methodology and low data quality. Therefore, in this paper, a methodology for identifying potentials for process optimization in the early phase of process planning in automotive assembly is presented. We use historical data in a multidimensional approach including ergonomic risk, rework and operation time relevant data in order to identify best- and worst-case scenarios. The approach is applied exemplarily for one vehicle component.
