Abstract: In this communication, some aspects of a paper published recently by Gao et al. Mater. Phys. Chem. 254 (2020) 123490 (here Gao et al. (2020) [4] are discussed. In this paper, some erroneous interpretation and citation of previously published work and false considerations concerning the phase formation in Ag–Sn thin layers are outlined.
