Iminophosphorane in perylenediimide chemistry: Staudinger reaction and a visible-light-driven competitive reaction of the Cadogan cyclization

Abstract: A novel bay functionalization of the perylenediimide backbone introduced an iminophosphorane group via a Staudinger reaction in the dark, while a light-driven rearrangement of the Cadogan cyclization added a hydroxy group at the 12-position.
