Abstract: This research stems from concerns about the incorporation of screens, primarily cell phones, into the play of young children. The issue was raised by a non-governmental organization that works with early childhood education and manages community gardens in Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. To address this, the organization convened students and professors from the University of Buenos Aires with the intention of conducting a situational diagnosis to determine the necessary courses of action. The research involved understanding the social representations of parents regarding play and screen use among their children. The methodological strategy combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, analyzing reports from 59 interviews and over 95 surveys conducted with parents and/or guardians of the children.
