Abstract: Theories of foreign and second language acquisition examine how learners acquire languages beyond their native tongue. These theories offer insights into the cognitive, social, and environmental factors that influence language learning. While some theories emphasize innate abilities, others focus on the importance of interaction, cognitive development, or the role of external input and social contexts. This article presents observations on how language learners from diverse backgrounds learn English in different ways.
