Abstract: The rapid aging of the population increases the demand for long-term care, which, when not provided by the family, may be offered by long-term care institutions for the elderly (ILPIs). These institutions require careful evaluation to ensure the health and well-being of the elderly. Such evaluation is crucial for enabling comparisons and assisting in the selection of ILPIs. This work introduces AvaliApp, an application developed for the self-assessment of care in ILPIs. AvaliApp aids in the management of these institutions and contributes to the continuous improvement of care provided to the elderly by supporting the self-assessment of six dimensions: Environment, Workforce, Care, Home, Family and Community Involvement, and ILPI Management.
