CT angiography as a complementary diagnostic method for the planning of surgery in invasive placenta: case report and literature review

Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Abnormal placental invasion is a condition related to multiple conditions including previous elective cesarean delivery and its increased frequency. For the obstetrician, it is also increasingly common to face this clinical entity, which has a high morbidity due to organ injury both directly and indirectly during the surgical procedure and not being attended by a highly qualified medical staff. In this paper, we focussed mainly on the surgical approach and its multidisciplinary management and a clinical case on placental percretism attended at the HMPMPS using a complementary diagnostic method (CT angiography) to plan the vascular approach during surgery.
