Abstract: in this report, the author summarizes the example of Khakassia and shows the massive development of virgin lands in the territory of Yenisei Siberia. In his opinion, it included the asceticism of the Soviet people, supported by the power of the state. The facts given in the text of the message indicate that the plowing of new lands was an integral part of the complex of state measures for the development of rural areas in the east of the country and had both positive and negative significance for the development of agriculture.
