Abstract: The EDDP method has enabled rapid random structure searching of systems which were previously too large to search efficiently.This has opened up a workflow in which EELS can be used on a wider range of materials, including those which do not have high quality reference standards or even known crystal structures in large databases.The usefulness of this workflow was demonstrated on silicised BN, and further work could use a similar workflow to understand how the composition and ELNES of these materials changes as a result of environmental degradation.
