Abstract: English summary Necrotizing gingivitis in a young woman Nor Tannlegeforen Tid. 2024; 134: 840-3. Necrotizing gingivitis (NG), is a rare yet distinctive periodontal disease characterized by rapid onset of interdental gingival necrosis, pain and halitosis. Various predisposing factors, such as stress, nutritional deficiency and immune system dysfunction, contribute to its development. The condition is especially associated with HIV infection. The presented case illustrates the swift onset of NG in a healthy young woman. No underlaying medical condition was identified, and the condition healed without periodontal destruction following local debridement and the administration of antibiotics.
