Abstract: Amidst the pressing global concerns of climate change, India’s role in diplomatic engagements holds profound significance. However, the gendered dimensions of these engagements often remain obscured within mainstream narratives. This study embarks on a feminist exploration of India’s diplomatic participation in global climate change negotiations, aiming to uncover the nuanced interplay of gender dynamics within these crucial discussions. The study delves into India’s diplomatic engagement in global climate change negotiations from a feminist perspective, elucidating how gender dynamics influence and shape these processes. Despite India’s significant role in international climate discourse, gendered implications are often sidelined. Through an analysis of India’s participation in key climate summits, policies, and strategies, this research highlights the gaps in gender representation and advocates for the integration of feminist principles to ensure that climate actions are inclusive and equitable. Employing qualitative content analysis, the study examines India’s contributions and challenges in climate diplomacy through a feminist lens, underscoring the complexities and intersections of gender within global climate governance. The research offers policy recommendations for India, aimed at promoting a just and inclusive international climate agenda that prioritises gender equality and addresses the unique challenges faced by women and other marginalised groups in the context of climate change.
