A rare case of squamous cell carcinoma originating from esophageal papilloma

Abstract: Esophageal lesion suggestive of a squamous papilloma under white light examination (a).The same lesion seen at narrow binding imaging evaluation with magnified endoscopy shows that the intrapapillary capillary loops in the center of the lesion appeared unusually dilated and thickened (b).Histological analysis revealed typical koïlocytes brutally transitioning to a carcinoma in situ (c).
