PREPARATION AND DIFFUSION RESISTANCE OF GRADIENT PtAl COATINGS WITH RE-BASE DIFFUSION BARRIERS

Abstract: sIn order to alleviate the problem of elemental interdiffusion between the PtAl coating and the alloy at high temperatures, this work prepared gradient PtAl coatings with Re-base diffusion barriers by electroplating a Ni-Re layer and a Ni layer sequentially between the PtAl coating and a Ni-base single-crystal superalloy. After isothermal oxidation, an Al2O3 film is generated on the surface of this coating, and only a small amount of topological close-packed (TCP) phase precipitates in the substrate.
